Terms of Service

Effective October 22, 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and Unfomo Inc. (“Unfomo”, “we”, “us”). They cover your use of Unfomo, our assistant in Telegram and Discord, and our website (together, the “Service”). By tapping “I agree” in the chat or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the Service.

1. Who can use Unfomo

You must be at least 18 years old and a college or university student. When you start, you give your date of birth: it is your own statement of your age, and it decides whether you can use Unfomo. We don’t verify anyone’s age or identity.

Give us true information, use the Service only for yourself, and use only a school email address that is yours. One Telegram or Discord account is one Unfomo account; if you use both apps, they are separate accounts. If we have banned you, don’t sign up again. You also use Telegram and Discord under their own terms.

2. What Unfomo does

Unfomo is a free AI assistant for college and university students that lives in a chat, in Telegram or in your direct messages on Discord. It can:

• find another student at your school to study, work out, run, grab coffee or food, or play pickup sports with;
• find events, clubs and resources at and around your school from public web pages, with a link to where it found them;
• help you study by explaining, quizzing you and giving feedback on your own work;
• remind you about events you say you’re going to, keep a weekly goal with you, and watch for things you ask about.

A private settings page, opened from a link the bot sends, lets you see and change your data. The Service is in beta. It is open at a limited number of schools; at other schools you can join a waitlist and still get study help. Features may change, pause or end at any time.

3. Finding someone to do things with

How it works. You tell the assistant what you want to do and when. When another student at your school wants the same thing at the same time, you each get an offer that doesn’t name the other person. A chat opens only if you both say yes, and each of you sees only the name the other chose. Saying no is always fine, and the other student is never told.

What we check, and what we don’t. Before your first chat, you confirm your school email with a code. That shows the other student studies at that school. It does not confirm who they are, their age or their background. We don’t run background checks or screen the students you meet.

Meeting in person is your choice. If you decide to meet, meet somewhere public, get there your own way, let a friend know, and leave whenever you want. You are responsible for your own safety, for your own conduct, and for the decisions you make with the people you meet. We are not responsible for what other students say or do, online or in person.

Partner chats. They are text only: links, files and photos aren’t passed on. A message that sounds like someone may be in danger gets our safety reply first. Send /block or /report at any time and the chat closes at once for both of you. If you can’t make it, say so: two no-shows in 30 days pause your offers for a week.

Matching is for doing the activity you asked for together. Don’t use it to pursue romantic or sexual contact that isn’t welcome.

4. Community rules

Treat other students the way you’d want to be treated. You agree not to:

• harass, bully, threaten, stalk or intimidate anyone, or attack anyone for who they are;
• send sexual content or make unwanted advances;
• share another person’s personal information or photos without their consent;
• pretend to be someone else, or lie about your age or your school;
• spam, advertise, sell, recruit, or ask anyone for money;
• use the Service for anything illegal or dangerous;
• try to find out who another student is before you both say yes, or get around a block;
• try to make the assistant break its rules, or overload, probe, scrape, copy or reverse-engineer the Service.

5. Reports and enforcement

A team member reviews every report. If you break these Terms or put others at risk, we may remove what you sent, limit what you can do, or ban you. A ban stops your account at once, and we keep what we need to stop you signing up again, as the Privacy Policy explains. We may share information with the police or other authorities when the law requires it or when someone’s safety is at risk.

6. Events, links and other websites

Events, clubs and places come from public pages run by others, and the assistant sends you each page’s link. We don’t run, check or endorse those events, organizers, venues or websites, and your dealings with them are between you and them. When a page states an age requirement, such as 19+, the assistant tells you; following age rules is your responsibility.

7. AI and accuracy

Unfomo uses AI models to understand your messages and write its replies. Every date, time, place and price in a recommendation comes from a public page it read, and it sends you that page’s link; if it can’t confirm something, it says so. Pages change and can be wrong, so check the link before you go. Study explanations and practice quizzes are written by AI and can contain mistakes, so check them against your course materials.

8. Study help and academic integrity

The assistant helps you learn and do your own work: it explains, quizzes you, gives feedback on your own drafts, and helps you plan your studying. It won’t write work you hand in for a grade or help during a test or exam. Following your school’s academic integrity rules is your responsibility.

9. Not professional advice, and not an emergency service

The Service doesn’t give medical, legal, financial or mental-health advice, and it isn’t a crisis service. In an emergency, call 911. In Canada or the United States you can call or text 988 at any time.

10. Messages from Unfomo

Besides answering you, the assistant may message you when it finds something that fits or about a partner request, as often as you choose and never during your quiet hours. Send /stop, or block the bot, and it stops messaging you right away; send /start to come back.

11. Your content

What you send stays yours. You give us permission to store, process and deliver it (for example, passing your partner-chat messages to your partner) only to run, protect and improve the Service, as the Privacy Policy describes. You are responsible for what you send. If you give us feedback or ideas, we may use them without owing you anything.

12. Our Service

We own the Service, its software, its design and the Unfomo name. We give you a personal, non-transferable permission to use it under these Terms, for your own non-commercial use.

13. Telegram, Discord and your data

Telegram and Discord deliver our messages and store bot chats on their servers without end-to-end encryption, so the assistant only sends what a reply needs. Send /profile in the chat to see your data, change your choices, download a copy, or delete your account. The Privacy Policy explains what we keep, why, and for how long.

14. Fees

Unfomo is free for students. If we ever add something you pay for, we’ll tell you first and it will be your choice.

15. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no promises about it, including that it will always work, that what it finds is accurate or complete, that it will find you a match, or about any student, event, organizer or website.

16. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Unfomo Inc. and its directors, employees and contractors are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for the conduct of other students, organizers or websites, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim about the Service is limited to the greater of 100 Canadian dollars or the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under consumer protection law that cannot be limited.

17. If you break these Terms

If someone makes a claim against us because you broke these Terms or the law, you agree to cover our reasonable losses and costs from that claim, to the extent the law allows.

18. Changes and ending

We may update these Terms; the date at the top shows the current version. We’ll ask you to agree to important changes in the chat before you continue. We may suspend or end the Service, or your access to it, at any time. You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time.

19. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, and disputes go to the courts of Ontario, unless the consumer protection law where you live gives you the right to go to court there. If part of these Terms can’t be enforced, the rest still applies. These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about the Service.
